Aggression might be the strongest emotion that cats use when they are angry about something. The Cats have sensitive ears, and hence they can even be frightened from a small beep in your phone. Many people don’t know that cats are afraid of Cucumber because it resembles snakes in color. Even the sound of laundry machine or vacuum cleaner can scare away the cats.

And once the cats are scared, they become aggressive. In their aggression, they can scratch down your face and body or any household object. Another factor that results in aggressive behavior of the Cats is when they become jealous, and someone or something else invades their territory. The cats think that they have a complete right on their owner and don’t want divided attention.

Sadness

Yes, even the cheerful cats get sad sometimes. They feel deep sorrow and grief and suffer from detachment issue and fear of abandonment. The Cats easily goes in depression if you leave them alone in the house for a few days, their favorite toy gets lots, or even if you move to a new house. Cats like familiar things, and they usually avoid trying out new things because of the unfamiliarity. In all these cases, your cat will grow distant, and their behavior will change indistinctly.

 

Happiness and Playfulness

Cheerfulness is the sheer nature of cats. They can play and sleep all day if you allow them to. They stay happy unless they face some kind of situation which disturbs their emotions. Cats love playing with small toys and object and teasing other pets and its companions too. If you have more than two cats, then you will often see them playing on the terrace, in the garden, and in an open area. Sometimes they even run around the house trying to be mischievous to get their owner’s attention.

How to Understand Your Cat’s Current Emotions?

Now as you know that Cats do have emotions and they also know how to express it, you must learn how to interpret the signs to understand their feelings. The easiest way to understand your cat’s emotion is by their body language.

Every single part of their body tells their feelings. So, here we are mentioning some signs and indication that can observe to have a better knowledge of their current state.

 

Tail

An erect tail means the cat is on alert, happy or exquisite. If the fur on end is standing, that means it is frightened or angry. If they tuck their tail between the legs that indicate the cats are insecure and anxious. And if the tail is straight up and also quivering, then they are really excited and happy.

 

Eyes

By eyes, we mean Pupil. If the pupil constricts when the cats are surely in the offensive/aggressive mood. If the pupil is dilated and large, then they are nervous, but it can possibly signify that they are in a playful mood.

 

Ears

If the Ears are in the forward direction, cats may have an interest in something or happy. If the ears are bent backward, sideways or flat, then they are surely nervous, frightened, angry or irritated from something. And if the ears are swiveling, then this means they are highly attentive towards something.

 

Sleeping Position

Yes, even the sleeping position tells a lot. The curled up crescent means that they are trying to retain some heat because it is cold for them. If they are trying to tuck themselves in or under something they may need warmth and comfort along with safety. And if your cat is sleeping keeping its belly upwards, then your kitty is as happy as it can be.
